HELP! Welcome to the help section. Here you can find important information about placing a booking for Villa Ana as well as some FAQ's that you may have! Frequently Asked Questions: Q. Am I dealing directly with the owner? Yes the villa is only let through the owner. Q. Why Georgian holidays? This is a family business based in Bath and allows us to process credit card payments without having to use a third party. Subsequently there is no surcharge on the transaction. Q. Who owns the villa? The same family who had it built over 15 years ago. Q. Do the owners use it? Yes. Several times a year. Q. What is the nearest airport? Yes there are three. Malaga is the most widely used and is 70 minutes drive from the villa, Granada (45 minutes) and Almeria (85 minutes).
Q. How
quickly will I receive my damage deposit back after my
holiday?
Normally you will receive your damage deposit back
within 72 hours if you paid by credit/debit card. It can
take up to 7 days to credit a bank transfer
Q. How large are the
rooms? Q. Is it regularly maintained? Yes, continuously, it is cleaned and inspected before and after every let. The poolman comes in at least once a week to check the pool and the gardener tends the garden twice a week. Q. Is the villa suitable for very young children? It is not ideally suited for toddlers, due to the elevated position. A cot is available in the villa for babies. Q. What if something goes wrong, when I am staying there? The local agent is close by and will put right any problems as soon as possible. Q. My flight arrives very late; after the shops have shut. Can I have a food pack? Yes, this can be pre ordered and delivered to the villa, at a cost of 20 euro payable locally.
Q. Can I arrive any day other than Saturday?
In high season June/July/ August is difficult, but at
other times it is sometimes possible. Please ask. Q. Can daily cleaning/bed making be arranged? Yes, Mon - Fri to be booked before departure (extra cost payable locally). Q. Is there air conditioning? No. Benefiting from the elevated position of the villa, refreshing breezes tend to keep the villa cool. However, there are ceiling fans throughout the villa. Q. What sort of heating is available in the winter? There is an efficient log burning stove, plus electric panel heaters in all of the rooms. Initial quantity of logs supplied and additional logs can be purchased from local supermarket (Dec - March). Q. Is there a telephone in the villa? Yes local and national calls are free together with broadband service. All other calls will be deducted from your deposit. Q. Is there a Wi-Fi connection within the villa? Yes. Download speed 1MB. Q. What type of satellite programmes are there? The satellite receives UK Sky (basic package) in English with the odd European news channel. Q. How far is it to the beach? The nearest beach is at Salobrena, approximately 7 minutes’ drive. Q. Is there a local taxi service? Yes there is a local firm in Salobrena. Q. I am thinking of skiing in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the morning, and relaxing by the pool in the afternoon. Is the villa suitable for winter use? The skiing is approx 70 minutes away. There is a log fire and electric heaters for heating. The combination of experiences can make a fantastic holiday. Q. Is the pool available all the year around, and what size is it? Yes, it is available all year round and in the winter its is covered with solar cover to help maintain the temperature. It is maintained at least once a week. Approx size 8 x 4 metres. The pool graduates to a depth of 2 metres Q. Can you walk to the shops? No not really, you do need a car. There are 5 supermarkets in Salobrena 7 minutes away. The villa is set on a hillside in a residential area and there are no local shops within walking distance. Q. Do the shops open on Sundays? Yes there are some small local food shops open on a Sunday morning and occasionally the big supermarkets open in high season. Q. What other facilities are there nearby? On the “Monte” there are tennis courts and a large pool (free), 3 minutes’ drive away. Access is gained by the key provided. Salobrena is only 7 minutes’ drive away. Here you can find municipal tennis courts. The local golf course (in Motril) is only 15 minutes’ away. There are a variety of watersports available along the coast. Q. What is
the weather like in the winter months?
Salobreña enjoys a true microclimate being both warmer
in winter and cooler in mid summer than the Costa del
Sol. It is purported to be the warmest place in mainland
Europe in mid winter yet only 75 minutes away are
mainland Spain's highest mountains and the ski slopes of
the Sierra Nevad Average temperatures during December
- March are between 14C-20C during the day. At night it
can be colder. Winter is also a time for rain! Even
though it rains less than in northern Europe do not be
under the impression that it will sunny every day.
